Sigma adds 2200 Prestige antibodies

Sigma-Aldrich's innovative biological product and service brand Sigma (R) Life Science recently announced that the Prestige antibody camp has expanded again, and 2200 new Prestige antibodies have been added. So far, Sigma Life Science's total number of Prestige antibodies has reached 8,300, covering 6,900 human protein targets, and the company's total monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies have exceeded 30,000.

Prestige antibodies were verified by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project, and these new antibodies were commercialized through cooperation with Sigma-Aldrich and Atlas Antibodies. The goal of Human Protein Atlas is to make all 20,265 non-redundant human proteins have at least one antibody by 2015. The specificity of Prestige antibodies has been strictly verified, and the cross-reactivity with other human proteins is low. Each Prestige antibody has more than 700 immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence and Western blot pictures. All these pictures and data can be found on Human Protein Atlas.

Since the cooperation between Sigma-Aldrich and Atlas Antibodies in February 2008, it has been the fourth wave of large-scale introduction of Prestige antibodies. According to their cooperation agreement, the two companies share exclusive sales rights in Europe, while Sigma-Aldrich is the exclusive distributor in North America, Asia Pacific and Latin America.

Becki Davis, antibody product manager at Sigma Life Science, commented: "Successful biological research relies on high-quality reagents for protein identification, functional research and cell analysis. This expansion of Prestige antibodies has allowed us to provide A good choice. In addition, Prestige antibodies are standardized and have a common process to make research more efficient. "
